My exhibition at CUE gave me exposure that I couldn't have had - nor predicted. I received very positive feedback and this enforced my confidence and put "a wind at my back" for further screenings. CUE also opened up the world of the gallery to me - as opposed to the group screenings that I am familiar with at festivals. I also found the staff simply remarkable for their dedication and support! Everyone of them!!!!! And to have several reviews, one in the Brooklyn Rail, was simply wonderful. – Cecelia Condit, exhibitor
The central location of the gallery provided me with an unprecedented opportunity to exhibit my work in a highly visible venue. The solo aspect of the exhibition allowed me space to present a body of related works, which offered curators, critics, etc. the opportunity to view my overall practice instead of just a single piece in a group exhibition. Working with an established curator provided context and credence to my practice. The catalog is a valuable document that I can continue to use to represent my work. Just HAVING a catalog of my work enhances my professional career. — Lisa Young, exhibitor
...thank you...again for a most amazing and eye-opening workshop! Thanks for making it so professional, as well as simultaneously serious and fun. The reason that I took the workshop at CUE was because I had been invited to give an artist's talk next year at The Center for Book Arts as part of my solo exhibition there. I thought to myself "if you really want to do this you better face your fears..." and now I am so excited and cannot wait to do it! — Catya Plate, participant of professional development intensive seminar, The Art of Public Speaking: How to Say it All in 5 Minutes
